I help busy founders

Systemise, scale, and step back.

I'm a senior leader who helps digital businesses build the operations, growth engines and systems that let them scale without the founder in every loop. Powered by AI and grounded in a career that spans global brands, tech scale-ups, and the CEO seat.

  • Hands-on operator (beyond consultancy)
  • Specialist depth, generalist range
  • More than 16 years of experience
Lu, founder of Uplift Digital, standing with her laptop

I spent six years running a 20M-visitor digital education platform as CEO. I took over the day-to-day, built the systems and the team, and drove the business to a successful eight-figure exit. Before that, operating at scale for tech giants and household brands. Now I bring all of it to founders as an Integrator. You set the direction; I make the business run.

  • 20M annual visitors at PositivePsychology.com
  • 32 person team, led to a successful PE exit
  • 16+ years in digital for Uber, Sonos, OMD, McDonald’s
The problem

Growth didn’t stall. You ran out of capacity.

Somewhere along the way, you became the system. It probably looks something like this:

  • Every meaningful decision routes through you, even the small ones.
  • The way things actually get done lives in your head, not in a process anyone else can run.
  • You’re the final quality check on everything, so nothing ships without you.
  • You’ve got tools everywhere: a CRM here, an automation there, forty tabs of half-connected software. But no system.
  • Every new client or launch creates more work for you, not more leverage for the business.
  • You know AI should be helping by now. So far it’s been noise.
The fix

The founder is the system.
That’s the problem I fix.

Founder bottleneck is common, whether you're a scrappy one-person powerhouse or a scaling, sprawling org.

My job is to change that. I build the operational machine: the processes, the growth engines, the automations, the connective tissue between them. AI makes that faster and leaner than it’s ever been.

What I bring

Areas of expertise

  1. Business operations

How work gets done: processes, documentation, delegation and quality control. The systems that let a business run day to day while the founder steps back.

  2. People management

Hiring, structuring and leading teams. I built and led a 32 person company, and I know what it takes for a team to run its own day to day.

  3. SEO and content optimization

I grew PositivePsychology.com to 20 million annual visitors through search and content. Keyword strategy, editorial workflows and the technical basics, set up so organic traffic keeps growing.

  4. The marketing machine

I’ll think the strategy and positioning through with you, then build what delivers it: funnels, email, CRM and analytics, connected into one system.

  5. AI and automation

Automations and AI workflows that take repetitive work off your team’s plate, built into the tools you already use and introduced at a pace everyone can keep up with.

Working together

Three ways to work with me

  • done for you

    The systems sprint

A focused engagement with a clear end. I audit how the business actually runs, then build the systems that buy back the most founder time. Documentation and handover included, so it keeps running when I step out.

  • done with you

    Fractional operations

I join your business one or two days a week as a fractional operator. Ongoing, embedded, and accountable for making the machine run while you step back.

  • do it yourself

    Workshops

Small-group programs where you build the AI-assisted systems yourself, on your real business goal, with me in the room. First cohort coming soon.

Workshops · coming soon

Prefer to build it yourself? That’s coming.

I’m putting together small-group programs for business owners who want to learn this hands-on: you bring a real business goal, and over a few weeks we build the AI-assisted systems that deliver it. On your actual work, in a small cohort, with me in the room. No theory you’ll never use, no course you’ll abandon by week two.

The first cohort opens soon, and it will be small. If you want in, or you just want to watch it take shape, leave your email.

a quick hello

Hi, I’m Lu.

The thing I love most is making complex things simple: taking a business that's grown tangled and turning it into something that runs with no friction. I lead by serving the team, I like to over-communicate, and I'd rather do a few things properly than many things halfway. That goes for clients too. I work with a handful of businesses whose mission I can genuinely get behind, and I have a soft spot for health and wellbeing. If you're building something that helps people, we'll get along.

FAQ

Founders often ask

What kind of businesses do you work with?

Digital and digital-first businesses that are past the starting line and feeling the strain of growth. Founders doing well on revenue and drowning in operations are my sweet spot. If that’s not you, the workshops might be the better door.

Is this just AI consulting?

No. It’s operations, growth and systems consulting, and AI is one of the sharpest tools I use to deliver it. If your problem is best solved without AI, that’s how I’ll solve it.

What does an engagement look like?

It starts with a call and an audit, then a scope we agree together. Some clients want the systems sprint: a defined build and handover. Others want me embedded as a fractional operator, one or two days a week over months. Both work, and the audit tells us which fits. If you would rather learn to build it yourself, that is what the workshops are for.

How is this different from hiring an ops manager?

An ops manager runs the machine. I build it. You get someone with CEO-level operating experience designing your systems, without the full-time seat, and what I leave behind is something an ops manager (or you, or nobody) can run.

When do the workshops start?

First cohort soon, kept deliberately small. The email list hears first and gets priority on seats.

Ready for version two?

I’ll tell you straight whether I can help, and what I’d do first if I can.
